College of Engineering faculty and staff joined the Center for Civic Innovation to help mulch one of the Native Tree Nurseries planted by CCI Interns in 2018. Organized by CCI and South Bend Venues Park & Arts, 18 volunteers showed up in the rain to serve in the Southeast Neighborhood.
Alisa Zornig Gura, CCI's Managing Director, commented, "We are encouraged and inspired by the dedication from colleagues in the College of Engineering to Care for Our Common Home, and appreciate Dean Culligan’s support for this effort. We are also grateful for our ongoing partnership with City of South Bend Venues Park & Arts in working toward solutions to local issues related to urban sustainability and resilience, such as urban tree nurseries and other green infrastructure."
